About Us
Rensselaer County Soil & Water Conservation District is a subdivision of the state of New York's Department of Agriculture and Markets. We work with producers, landowners, and municipalities by providing technical assistance and tools to manage and protect land and water resources in Rensselaer County.
The District has been in operation since 1949 and strives to be on the cutting edge of Soil and Water Conservation by utilizing the most up to date and industry science backed practices. Being at the forefront of our discipline allows us to provide a service to the public that benefits the environment as well as the piece of mind of the citizens of Rensselaer County.

Internships
The Rensselaer County SWCD accepts internships during most summer seasons. Specific internship duties may change year to year, but will always consist of valuable hands on environmental work experience. In compliance with the Open Meetings Law, the Rensselaer County Soil and Water Conservation District gives notice that it will conduct a Board of Directors Meeting on the second Tuesday of every month at 2:30 p.m.​
The Board of Directors of the Rensselaer County Soil & Water Conservation District (RCSWCD) are pleased to announce that the Eastwick Press has again been chosen for the District's official newspaper. For 2025, the RC SWCD Board Meetings will be held monthly at 2:30 pm, located in the USDA NRCS Troy Service Center, 1612 NY-7, Troy, NY. The monthly meeting dates are listed below.
